Water is important in our life. It is used as a key ingredient of many different products from tomato sauce to dish soap, from drink and food making to daily necessities. In some styles of spray booths, it is used to capture overspray from the spray gun.In addition to the above, it is also used to wash down work areas or house cleaning to make them look nice and clean.

So, wastewater treatment is an important process to help us keep recycles of nature resource. Wastewater treatment is a process used to remove impurities or contaminants include oil, ion, chemical, etc. from wastewater and convert it into an effluent that can be returned to the water cycle.

Wastewater Treatment

Among, there are six important steps in the treatment of wastewater which are:

a) Oil and Water Separation

b) Ion Exchange

c) Chemical Treatment

d) Polymer Feed

e) Clarifier

f) De-watering

Wastewater Treatment

Diaphragm pumps occupy an important position in the process of wastewater treatment. It can replace the centrifugal pump to better transfer oily media, and can also speed up its separation time in the process. Diaphragm pumps can efficient are used for the high capacity transfer from one tank to another.

In chemical treatment, metering pumps are used to add sodium hydroxide and chlorine to storage tanks. Typically, these are mechanically operated diaphragm pumps with fine resolution and very high precision. Therefore, the use of remotely driven air-operated diaphragm pumps is becoming more and more common to operate with the flow rate of a metering pump.

During dewatering, diaphragm pumps are often used as transfer pumps for sludge from the clarifier to the filter press. When sludge builds up in the filter, the back pressure created slows down the diaphragm pump and eventually stops it. The ability of a diaphragm pump to operate at higher back pressures is a great advantage for the operator. Cast iron/ductile iron pumps are typically used for this application.

Diaphragm Pumps play an important role in supplying the chemicals needed to treat waste water and hold key features that make it beneficial over others.GK diaphragm pumps have additional features that make it preferred over other diaphragm pumps.
